【Let’s support social enterprises】
During the epidemic, ‘StarUp Wonders’ social enterprise is one of the partners participating in the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Multi-Disciplinary Outreaching Support Teams for the Elderly – Jockey Club Long COVID Support Services for Elderly Homes. It mainly provides harmonious pastel activities for over 170 members of 26 private homes in Central Kowloon and East Kowloon.

StarUp participated in the [Jockey Club Long COVID Support Services for Elderly Homes] hosted by the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Multi-Disciplinary Outreaching Support Teams for the Elderly. We provided emotional relief to the elderly living in homes through harmonious pastel groups, bringing positive and happy energy. We have already served 25 nursing homes, made 100 visits, and reached more than 200+ elderly people. We are very moved that StarUp can do this, and we have exceeded our goals

Character. Shape, Mindful Chinese Calligraphy Painting
StarUp has collaborated with Teacher 王瑩珠 to create an interesting Chinese painting course. This course is suitable for anyone to learn, including youth with intellectual disabilities. The goal is to allow the public to rediscover the evolution and historical stories of ancient Chinese characters. Welcome to form a class to experience a different and in-depth journey into the ancient Chinese characters.

Grateful for the opening
StarUp first artistic gift shop has officially opened in Sham Shui Po. We are grateful that the shop is located near the cultural and creative district, close to residential areas, and with convenient transportation. The philosophy of StarUp is to establish a unique platform to allow youth with intellectual disabilities to create careers through art, gain satisfaction from work, and serve the community residents through the StarUp shop.

We aim to soothe the negative and stressful emotions experienced by nursing home residents, which have been triggered by the 2019 coronavirus, through the use of harmonious pastel colours.

In the midst of the 5th wave of the pandemic, all in-person classes at StarUp have been on hold for over two months. Despite these challenges, StarUp has been diligently providing home-based learning courses for our students. We extend our gratitude to Teacher Wong for her specially designed ‘Character. Shape’ course. This unique program allows StarUp students to delve into the origins and evolution of Chinese characters from the comfort of their homes. The approach to painting in this course is distinctive, adding an element of intrigue and enjoyment to the learning experience.

Catwalk Show Christmas Rolling Ball Party
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tag Charity Team for their generous assistance. They have provided invaluable support to six StarUp students, offering a complete image makeover free of charge. From the initial discussions to the final purchase of clothing, the team has been a constant source of support, providing thoughtful companionship and a wealth of advice throughout the process. Under the guidance of our artists, the event featured a catwalk show, talent performances by StarUp students, and a small-scale art exhibition. It was a day filled with fun activities and delicious food, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere for all attendees.

Today, leading the Little Star Delivering Love’s parents and children enjoyed painting harmoniously together. A Journey of StarUp Wonders
The program takes you on A Journey of StarUp Wonders. The journey is shared by a group of youth with intellectual disabilities, their parents, and companions, all sharing the value of life. Even though life seems to be lived with flaws, they discover that these are actually blessings that illuminate life, radiating positive energy. We are like little stars, even with a little light, we will shine with all our might, showing unlimited talent, together building and discovering the real self. StarUp allows you to reacquaint yourself with the 1% diverse talents (people with intellectual disabilities) living in society. The program consists of a total of 13 episodes.
